Council's Cabinet decision on proposed closure of Acklington CE First School
On Tuesday 7 November, the Council's Cabinet considered the proposal of the Governing Body of the James Calvert Spence Federation to close Acklington CE First School with effect from 31 December 2017. The Cabinet approved the proposal to close the school but in the light of the recommendation from the Family and Children's Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee, have modified the effective closure date to 31 August 2018, therefore the school will close at the end of this academic year.
